Earlier last month, we’ve hosted our regular expat social networking event at the same spot, with 85 expat attendees and all of us loved the event and beautiful location, with the stunning view facing the lake.

On the food:

Thai Coconut Curry Asari Clam – RM28

The name of the dish’s already got us drooling. Clams are fresh, the curry is the kind that is really creamy and comforting, barely spicy that even a 5 year old will be able to appreciate, we’d imagine. 9.5/10

Picture4

Pork belly berempah – RM29

Insanely good. The real magic is in the spice mix – not sure what or how they spiced it up but its incredible. Love how they turn an otherwise boring pork belly and infused with Malay spices ( We all know how malay cuisines are expert in spices ) and let’s be honest, no one does spices quite like Malay cuisine).

Picture6

Cheese Papachos RM33

A fun hybrid of papadom + nachos. We wished they were a bit crispier from the oven, but they were still delicious—no complaints here.

Picture7

Pork Tomahawk RM82

Cooked right, the outside gets a sexy, crispy sear, while the inside stays juicy and flavourful. We love the pineapple mustard grain sauce that comes along with it – the sweet and sour note elevates the whole dish, keep you wanting for another bite.

Picture8

Smoked salmon pasta RM38

Good lord, who let the garnish run wild? The dish is hidden under enough ice plant to start a small farm – presentation’s a little odd to us. Why did they hide such generous amount of smoked salmon under those ice plant ? But the taste ? A solid 10/10, The smoked salmon sauce is a proper dream, swirled in a creamy tomato sauce that’s so satisfying and comforting.

Picture9

Sanghar Seafood Curry Buttermilk Claypot

This claypot is a real MVP. Not just for show – it keeps everything hot, fragrant and begging to be mopped up with sides of deep fried mantau. Sanghar is really fresh and plump, and we love their choice of fish – perch fish goes so well, super tender and melts in your mouth.

Picture10

Bak Chor Mee

Springy noodles with belacan on the side so you can adjust the spiciness to your liking, and the pork berempah (the same pork berempah we raved about earlier in this article).
