Among the technologies employed at Volvo Certified Damage Repair Centres is the advanced vehicle inspection and repair system, Car-O-Liner. The Car-O-Liner alignment and straightening system has anchoring and holding systems specific to every Volvo model, old or new, and is a powerful and accurate body and chassis alignment system that enables technicians to detect all damages, even those that may not be visible to the naked eye. With the Car-O-Liner, the body frame of a damaged car can be realigned to factory standards with precision, speed and safety.
Apart from the body alignment system, each centre has an array of special tools used to perform any body or mechanical repairs on Volvo cars. The equipment is also specifically selected for high-speed welding with quality and precision.
Body repairs will inevitably require panel repainting. Unlike conventional spray paint booths, the centres use PIVAB spray booths designed to optimise heated air flow using automatic controls and monitoring systems. At normal operation, ventilation is done at low speed to keep the power consumption as well as the emission of carbon dioxide and microscopic particles as low as possible, and automatically increased when a paint spray gun is connected.
PIVAB spray booths use electricity to heat the air during the drying process, as opposed to fuel, which is more efficient and reduces the emission of greenhouse gases. Additionally, more than 80% of the air in the facility is sent through a filtration system that reduces energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The use of in paint is also replaced with a
The centres use Glasurit water-based paint from Germany, which is a water-based paint, that greatly reduces employee and environmental exposure to hazardous chemicals such as volatile organic compounds from conventional solvent-based paint, while maintaining a high aesthetic outcome and superior finishing.

Volvo Cars established its presence in Malaysia in the early 1960s before formally establishing Volvo Car Malaysia in 1999. Since then, Volvo Car Malaysia has gone from strength to strength and built a network of 11 dealers and 14 showrooms across the country.
The popularity and demand for Volvo cars locally had led to the establishment of the Volvo Car Manufacturing Malaysia in 1967, which is now Malaysia’s oldest and longest-running vehicle assembly plant. In 2016, Volvo Car Malaysia was the first market to locally assemble the XC90 PHEV outside of Sweden, paving the way for the assembly of other Volvo PHEVs whilst continuously providing a sustainable and safe driving experience. Volvo Car Malaysia is also the first manufacturer to locally assemble EVs including the latest Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric. Volvo Car Malaysia sells premium-segment car models in two versions: sedans (S60 and S90) and SUVs (C40, XC40, XC60 and XC90).
In February 2021, it became the first automotive brand in Malaysia to offer a full range of PHEVs for all its models. Volvo Cars’ vision is to be climate neutral by 2030 and to support this, Volvo Car Malaysia aims for 75 per cent of its sales to come from the Recharge Pure Electric line-up by 2025. Marking the next chapter in their electrification journey, the all-new Volvo C40 Recharge Pure Electric solidifies Volvo Car Malaysia’s position as the leading mover in the e-luxury segment.
