KUALA LUMPUR, 14 May 2024 – Volvo Car Malaysia is thrilled to announce the Volvo Padel Open, Malaysia’s inaugural and largest official padel tournament. Set to give new and experienced players the chance to compete across two weekends, Volvo Car Malaysia is partnering with all Klang Valley padel clubs – ASCARO Padel & Social Club, Padelground, and PadelKu – to grow padel’s social community in Malaysia.
Participants of the Volvo Padel Open will vie for glory and prizes worth up to RM100,000 in four categories – Intermediate, Open, Women’s and Wildcard – which will take place from 8 to 15 June 2024. Participants will need to sign up together as a doubles team, and all players be assessed upon registration to determine their skill level and eligible category.

To join the Volvo Padel Open, participants only require a one-off fee of RM200 per team of two players, or a special rate of only RM100 if at least one player is a Volvo owner. Apart from the chance to compete for the grand prizes, players can also enjoy complimentary coaching clinics before the tournament, a stylish Volvo sports kit, court-side access to the grand finals and exclusive Volvo hospitality.
With roots in the 1960s, padel is widely hailed as the fastest-growing sport globally with 25 million players across 110 countries, attracting many new players since arriving on Malaysian shores with its fast, modern gameplay and focus on camaraderie as a doubles game.
Volvo Car Malaysia was an early champion of the sport last year when it held its first Koppla sporting event – a padel friendly for Volvo owners – at ASCARO Padel & Social Club, the first padel club in Malaysia.
